Hominem API

Three apps, same personal data. One API instead of three duct-taped together.

The Problem

Three products sharing the same personal data don't need three separate APIs, three auth systems, or three job queues. Hominem is one server with typed contracts, shared auth, and MCP support — so AI agents can reach personal data without breaking permission boundaries.

The Solution

A centralized Hono API that owns identity, data access, background workers, and storage for Omiro, Career, and Finance — plus an MCP server for AI agent access to personal data.

What it does

  • Serve web, mobile, and agents from typed Hono contracts
  • Own identity, background workers, queues, and storage policy in one place
  • Expose personal data through an MCP server with permission checks
  • Share Better Auth with passkeys and OTP support across every surface

What took work

  • Keeping one contract coherent across web, mobile, and MCP clients
  • Adding MCP as a first-class protocol beside the HTTP API
  • Enforcing permission boundaries around agent access to personal data
